The Heart and Soul of Ward 1,
Rondo Days and Melvin Carter

Running, walking and drumming amid a welcoming and encouraging crowd, DFL endorsed Melvin Carter brought his campaign for City Council to the streets and neighborhood he loves.  The 24th annual Rondo Days Festival, themed “A New Beginning to an Old Tradition” was a fitting celebration for Melvin’s vision for Ward 1 and St. Paul.

Over 50 Neighbors, friends and supporters walked with Melvin through the heart and soul of St. Paul from St. Peter Claver Church to Martin Luther King Recreation Center.  Stickers, flyers and hugs were handed out as Melvin was greeted by rousing cheers on each block.  Each block brought the Carter for Council contingent closer to the Rondo Festival at MLK where amazing BBQ, community organizations and the smooth sounds of Melvin Sr. on the trumpet welcomed the hot, but energized group.

Thanks to those that joined Melvin for this important day! What a wonderful turnout and reception!  We march onto November with your support and energy!
