Melvin's Miles!

Help Melvin run a clean (air) campaign!

Campaigning means putting in a lot of travel time, which usually means a lot of driving and a lot of carbon emissions polluting our Ward. Melvin's convinced that doesn't have to be the case.  He's pledged to walk, bike, and bus whenever he can during the campaign. He's set himself a goal of riding 300 miles by bike, 100 miles by bus and 25 miles by foot (including parades and doorknocks) before Election Day. Besides contributing to a cleaner environment, biking, busing and walking means Melvin will see more of the ward-- and more of  you!-- every day.  He's not only helping keep our Ward clean, he's staying in touch.

You can help Melvin run a clean air campaign by sponsoring Melvin's Miles!
Pledge $1 per mile for any of the three modes of transportation:
$300 for sponsoring his biking,
$100 for sponsoring his bus riding, or
$25 for sponsoring his walking.

You'll be able to keep track of Melvin's Miles on the website, and see how far he's managed to get without a car!

As of November 4, Melvin has logged:
300 miles by bike
100 miles by bus
25 miles by foot
